Our Purpose
As a current market leader, Nourish Care provides a digital solution to the health and social care sector which enhances the process of recording, analysing, and sharing of information.
We are in the midst of one of the most exciting times in our history and while we are the current market leader in the sector, we will not become complacent. We are dedicated to our purpose of a better life for everyone. We continue to revolutionise the care sector and our incredible employees are what make this possible.
Working in Engineering at Nourish
A software developer at Nourish is a generalist with specialisms. What does that mean? It means that – at heart – you’re an engineer with a broad passion for programming, for building solutions to problems regardless of specific language, framework or stack.
That said, we expect you to have spent more time working with certain languages and frameworks than others – and for you to have personal preferences – and we are happy for you to bring that enthusiasm with you!
We work as small Agile teams delivering work across several different projects. We have a philosophy of ‘everyone touches everything’, which means that you’ll have the opportunity to be exposed to all parts of our technical systems, from frontend UI through to devops tasks. It’s the ultimate learning opportunity for someone with the right mindset.
We believe that good engineering solutions depend on deep understanding of the problem so when clarification is required a developer at Nourish is quick to collaborate. Our pairing and mentoring culture happens over a range of communication channels, face-to-face, video call, instant chat and comments in our PRs which are always neat and detailed.
We also welcome feedback and suggestions – you should expect to play an active role in team discussions on architecture and technology selection, and work to support, maintain and build out the applications that make Nourish such a powerful platform for social care.
The Role and your Responsibilities
We’re looking for someone to join our Integrations team, which works relentlessly to build, refine and maintain the links both between our own systems and those of third parties with whom we have partnerships.
It’s the ideal role for someone who gets their kicks from wiring systems together, then inspecting that wiring and working out how it can be done better, faster and more securely. Our integrations process millions of events each day.
You can expect to spend your sprints helping to more deeply integrate our systems, maintaining the infrastructure upon which they depend and building out new integrations as and when requirements arise.
This role will not involve much front-end dev/design. We have a couple of simple internal admin interfaces which you will contribute to, but these only need to work in the latest version of Chrome on a big monitor so maintaining them is a rare pleasure! But with more than 10 existing integrations written in a variety of languages and communicating using different protocols, you’ll have plenty to get your teeth into we promise.
- Maintaining, building and improving our suite of integrations.
- Working as part of an Agile team to deliver improvements.
- Participating in Agile Ceremonies and committing to sprint goals as a team.
- Analysing logs and metrics to understand how we can either improve our systems or guide our partners to better utilise our APIs.
- Gaining a full understanding of our APIs and products.
- Supporting client-facing colleagues to diagnose and solve any issues that may arise.
