About the Job
We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our finance team as a Finance Assistant. Based in Bournemouth with hybrid working opportunities, the ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the company’s financial transactions, ensuring accurate reconciliation of accounts, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers and customers, and improving cash flow processes.
The role and your responsibilities
Credit Control:
- Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices.
- Conduct regular follow-ups with customers regarding overdue balances via phone calls, emails, and written correspondence.
- Investigate and resolve disputes or discrepancies in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of all correspondence related to debt collection.
- Prepare reports on aged debtors and escalate complex cases to the Financial Controller, Head Of Finance and Customer Success Team.
Bank Reconciliation:
- Perform daily to ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between bank statements and internal financial records.
- Ensure all reconciling items are followed up and cleared promptly.
Accounts Payable:
- Process and record supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Review and verify employee expense claims for accuracy, compliance with company policy, and appropriate documentation.
Inbox Management:
- Manage the finance department’s shared inbox to ensure all queries and requests are addressed promptly.
- Categorise, prioritise, and delegate emails to the appropriate team members when necessary.
- Monitor incoming invoices and correspondence.
Required experience
- 3 years previous experience in a similar role
- Familiarity with accounting principles and financial reconciliation processes.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience working in QuickBooks and or Tipalti.
