Group Engineering Manager – EngineeringI've been working in various engineering roles for over 20 years, much of it working in the luxury travel industry where there's great camaraderie but also high expectations around uptime, ease-of-use and design. Needless to say, I'm a keen traveller and through work I've been lucky to do some "once in a lifetime" things such as attending Rio Carnival, swimming with whale sharks in Western Australia and staying in an Iban tribal village in Borneo. Closer to home I enjoy wild camping (usually in a hammock) and having two young kids has somehow led to me becoming chair of the local school PTA. I consider myself fortunate to enjoy both the development and management sides of being an Engineering Manager and have worked with many amazing people, but decided to look for a more mission-driven role and it was this which attracted me to the role at Nourish. I'm really excited to be working with people who are all working towards such a meaningful goal.
Fun Facts about me:
- I once bought the domain name bing.com [ http://bing.com ] as an "in joke" with a friend - but it was quickly cancelled due to a lack of funds in my student bank account!
- I studied Intelligent Systems - AI and machine learning - at university.
- I've done Duolingo every day since October 2022 - mostly French.
