Job Title: Junior Legal Counsel
Reporting To: Head of Legal
Location: Bournemouth, Hybrid or Remote. We work in a flexible, hybrid way and there are no fixed days in the office. If you want to come in once a week, a couple of times a month or everyday! We will work around you.

The Team & Role
As a Junior Legal Counsel at Nourish, you will sit at the centre of a fast moving SaaS business, working across teams to provide clear, practical legal guidance that enables commercial progress. This is not a role confined to a contract review queue. You will take ownership of day to day legal operations and become a trusted partner to teams including Sales, Customer Success, Partnerships, Finance and Operations.
You will be the first point of contact for legal queries, supporting a wide range of activity from commercial contracts and data protection through to public sector tenders and supplier agreements. The role requires sound judgement, the ability to balance risk with pace, and confidence in knowing when to advise, challenge or escalate.
Working closely with the Head of Legal, who is focused on strategic priorities, you will play a key role in ensuring the legal function runs smoothly and continues to evolve. This is an opportunity to contribute to how legal operates within the business, improving processes, increasing clarity, and embedding legal as a proactive, commercially aligned function.
Key Responsibilities
Take ownership of day to day legal operations, acting as the first point of contact for legal queries across the business and ensuring timely, practical and commercially focused advice
Draft, review and negotiate a range of commercial agreements including customer contracts, supplier agreements, partnership arrangements and non disclosure agreements
Support the business on data protection matters, working with teams to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and embedding best practice into day to day operations
Provide legal input into public sector tenders and procurement processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency and alignment with regulatory requirements
Partner closely with Sales, Customer Success, Partnerships, Finance and Operations to support commercial activity, remove blockers and enable confident decision making
Exercise sound judgement in assessing legal and commercial risk, knowing when to provide guidance, when to challenge and when to escalate to the Head of Legal
Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of legal processes, templates and ways of working to increase efficiency and scalability
Support the wider legal function in maintaining governance standards, including contract management, record keeping and policy development
Requirements
Qualified lawyer in England and Wales
2 to 3 years PQE, including at least 1 year of in house experience
Experience working in a fast paced SaaS, technology or similar commercial environment
Strong experience with commercial contracts, with the ability to work confidently in the detail and at pace
Good working knowledge of data protection, including GDPR
Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied workload effectively
Comfortable operating in environments with pace, ambiguity and shifting priorities
Able to translate complex legal concepts into clear, practical language for non legal stakeholders
Proactive and solutions focused, with the ability to anticipate needs and approach challenges constructively
Commercially aware, with the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives
Calm, confident and grounded in approach, with the ability to build strong working relationships across teams
Willing to take ownership, get stuck in and see work through to completion
Diligent and detail oriented, with sound judgement developed through in house experience
